It worked out so that the grape gas was harvested at the same time as the photos, and it’s great! Yielded well, buds have a great aroma to them and are very dense and heavy.

The thing that surprised me about this plant was how well it did, even being slightly neglected as the 2 perms had priority and this plant just filled in its little 1.5′ x 3′ area literally as densely as it could and then when the 2 perms were harvested, it had the whole tent to itself to finish out its bulking phase and ripening. It went the full 84 days and was chopped on day 85. It would have been a BEAST had it been able to take over the entire tent, but I had no idea that the perms would get as big as they ended up. I did top this one after looking through the discord and seeing pictures of others getting quite tall. It still got pretty tall, but stayed manageable, except having to ziptie the base to the front tent poles so it didn’t topple into the back of the tent once the buds started getting heavy and having more leverage.

August 25, 2026 at 7:26 am in reply to: LBC Q2 & Blonde Bomb

1st 3 pics are LBC Q2 front plant, pics 4-6 are the back LBC Q2, and the last 3 are blonde Bomb.

The front lbc yielded slightly better, its “lowers” are super dense and added about an oz to the weight. The rear lbc q2 yielded about an oz less, but its flowers are extremely nice….. they have a pinkish hue to them and have are fluffy, dense and covered in trichs. Both currently have an orange creamcicle type smell… but they’ve only had about 36 hours in the grove bag

Blonde Bomb has some huge colas and insane bag appeal. This was a nice strain to run with LBC as its a totally different flower structure & color… Blonde Bomb has a much darker or purple hue to it from being rich in anthocyanins whereas LBC is predominantly green with one of the plants having some pink hues. And the flower structure kinda reminds me of a dos si do type flower with its huge bracts/calyxes….. that, along with the color and trichome coverage makes it look like it was rolled around in sugar.

The smells from the 2 are very different too, with the blonde bomb currently smelling more on the gas/rubber spectrum and and lbc predominantly citrus with a creamy? undertone.

Both are very pleasant on all the senses.

I usually wait until stuff has had at least a 2 week cure before I start getting into them, so no word yet on effects.

Grape gas taking her sweet time to ripen, she’s been on her own timeline the entire grow, so not surprised. Probably going to harvest the photos this week and this will be the last plant going from my late spring/summer grow. Had to anchor it to both sides of the tent poles

Pictures of the 2nd perm trimmed up…. as well as the remaining grape gas. I had to ziptie the base to a tent pole, she got so top heavy with the taller chunky colas made it fall over into a tent wall lol

We’re at 52F now…. started introducing osmotic stress with generative fertigation steering, lowered main light intensity and giving 10 minutes of uva/ hour rather than 5 minutes. The only blonde Bomb picture is the last one.

Pictures from a couple branches from the larger perm…. can’t wait to start on the other…. despite the plants looking nearly identical, the flowers are different. The smaller plant had purple throughout from senescence and its more greasy as opposed to this one which has more sandy feeling trichs

I used jars forever…. and then grove came out. I still used wide mouth glass mason jars while watching/ reading people using grove bags. I have no idea if long term storage of cannabis with all its terpenes and cannabinoids could react with whatever polymer is being used in the bags. I have seen cannabis terpenes cause ink from a sharpie permanent marker to run, so some terpenes are more reactive than others….

Right now, I use grove bags for the “burping phase” and then into glass mason jars in the dark for long term storage. I think if left too long in the bags, the cannabis will get too dry for my preferences.

A similar issue is coming up regarding METRC tags (a Metrc Tag is a unique, single-use RFID Tag or barcode identifier used to legally track cannabis plants and inventory from seed to sale and the states require their use to stay in compliance). At least 15 states use METRC as their tracking program to trace cannabis from seed to sale both medical and recreational (yellow tags indicate the plant is for medical use, blue tags indicate for recreational use)….. Someone had them independently tested and found out they have lead and arsenic at high enough levels to cause a positive test result indicating presence of at least those 2 substances on the surfaces of the tags

Stretch got away from me a little bit having 4 vigorous plants, i ran out of room horizontallyand thought they’d ease up on the vertical but its close as you can see, but the plants are handling everything great.
